B7 is hard to explain because in theory it ought to be depressing and it is genuinely set in a pretty bleak and terrible universe but it is actually a lot of fun! It's just a thing where you have huge fun and like everyone (they're all fascinating) and laugh at the mind-boggingly terrible SFX and then in between your heart breaks a bit every so often and even more the next time round and it's all awesome. (Or you realise you have reached maximum Terry Nation exposure around ep3 of S1 and give up, although that would be even sadder.)
Sapphire & Steel OTOH can be a bit depressing indeed. It's also very weird and seeing as you tend not to prefer the weirder DW stuff, you may not like it that much! (But it's unique enough to be worth trying, and it does have some humour. And one evil pillow.)
