AO3 Stats Meme (2022 Edition)
So it's been just over a year since the last time I've done this, and in the time since I've only published one (1) story to AO3, so I at least have not broken my yearly chain. Hopefully sometime this summer I'll be able to actually push out some of the drafts that have been gathering dust the last couple of years. Interested to see how things have (and haven't) changed.

So the top 10 is the same as it was last year, just shuffled around a bit. Even though I know why two stories rose in the rankings (erotica) its still nice that my newer writing is doing well and overtaking my older writing. I suspect that "Inside My Body" may end up being the most popular fic I ever write, which is fine by me because it's something I'm very proud of.

Another case of my newer stories doing well, which I'm happy about, but I'm still kind of surprised at how well "Locked Out" is doing considering it's just a fluff story, and that it managed to crack the Top 10. The one that got knocked out, "Banding Together", is currently sitting at 54 kudos tied in 11th place with "In Awe of the Dawn".

The downward movement of these rankings are actually pretty deceptive, considering last year's had a seven-way tie for third, so "Inside My Body" really pulled ahead and most of the others gained comments as well. "Midnight City Madness", which was previously tied for tenth, now sits tied at 11th with "Party On Our Own".

So wow this one looks dramatically different. I knew "Inside My Body" was doing well - as stated as much earlier - but to go from 18 bookmarks to 39... it's a really nice feeling. Ditto with my other ANOES stories landing on this ranking. "Feels Like Torture" is the rare case I can pinpoint of a story ranking lower because its stats actually lowered, which is kind of interesting. Like with kudos, "Banding Together" fell out of the Top 10 and now sits tied for 12th with "A Loud and Sloppy Interspecies Makeout".

I don't have many multi-chapter fics so I expect this stat not to offer much, and its nearly identical to last year's list with the exception of "Locked Out" ranking.
Writing this list has definitely motivated me to take a second look at whatever drafts I have for "A Nightmare on Elm Street" since there seems to be a readership for it, which I was not expecting considering I think I've written half the fics in existence for the Jesse/Ron pairing. Here's hoping next year's list sees more new entries and, better yet, ones that were written after 2019!
