This past weekend I had the opportunity to see Studio Trigger's new film Promare not just once, but twice! I've liked some of their past projects (most notably Kill la Kill and Space Patrol Luluco) but this film was a completely original concept and I basically went into it cold with no expectations other than it was probably gonna look good because Trigger puts out quality work and this is their first feature film.

I am obsessed with this movie now.

I'm not going to go into a detailed review of this because aside from the special Tuesday and Thursday screenings last night, this movie is limited release. I will say, however, that if you have the opportunity you should go and see it. I saw it both times in Japanese with subtitles but I really want to find a way to see it dubbed in English as well. (I was originally going to link the trailer as well, but I honestly think its better to go into this blind.)


But yeah, it's nice to fall deep in like with a new piece of media again. I'm especially enamored with new best boy™ Galo (the one with the blue hair).
