I was going to make this post right after I got out of Part 2, but I ended up being exhausted/super busy/sick this weekend (which I'll detail in another post) so I didn't get the chance to at the time.

You can read my pre-viewing speculation here, and the long and short of it is I absolutely loved it and kind of want to spend the money to see it again in a few months. Yeah, that's how much I liked it.

( SPOILERS FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE CURSED CHILD )

Okay, so I never properly sat down and read the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child... "book". At the time, it was because I knew it was the early rehearsal edition and not the final version of the script, which is what I would prefer to read. But in all honesty, I'm not a huge fan of consuming media connected to stage productions I haven't seen. As a child I found Shakespeare more engaging when performed on stage than I ever did in text form, because ultimately a script is written with the intention that half of it's meaning would be brought by the actors' performances. And that version of the story was the version of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child I wanted to consume. The problem? In Summer 2016, the play was only being performed in London - where I do not live - and the tickets were extremely expensive and hard to get.

Then the play opened in New York, and I made an impulsive decision.

So a few days before I decided to suffer through seeing Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, I decided on a whim to try playing the mobile game Hogwarts Mystery again. I tried playing it when it first came out but I got bored pretty fast. This time, however, I've become pretty addicted. Though I am pleased to say that so far I've only spent $10 in mirco-transactions (and one $5 was so I could finish this limited time event that I left until the last minute).

I did too good a job designing my character though, because he every time he smiles he looks like he's about to burst into tears lmao. I'm actually surpised at how much I like the more-or-less paint-by-numbers mobile gameplay and the storyline. I'm only a little bit into year 2 so I'm early days, and I'm excited to meet a whole bunch of characters that other people who play the game really seem to like.

The reason I'm up so late is I just got finished hosting a Christmas party and I had a really good time! There were a couple of friends I hadn't seen in months. It felt like it went by really fast this year though, which is a bummer.

Tomorrow I have to clean and start getting ready for wellfourthings to come and crash on my couch for a week, during which we're going to go see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child over the course of two nights. I'm super excited!

(As an unrelated note, at some point I need to figure out how to reformat the tag page on this blog because I really don't like the one I currently have. ;_;)

Up until recently, I was planning on watching Recovery of an MMO Junkie at some point. The screenshots I saw of it floating around online seemed charming enough, nothing that would really suggest that its director is a full-blown Nazi. Aside from shock and dismay, the most frequent reaction I've seen to this is that people should be able to "separate the art from the artist" and enjoy the art on its own merits regardless of what the person who created it has done or said.

I was going to do a write-up of my complicated relationship with the lonelygirl15 franchise yesterday when the week's new video was posted, but it never was. So I'm probably going to sit and wait on those thoughts until I'm riding the high of new content.

That's really my goal for this blog: Longer, in-depth entries about specific topics. A lot of it will probably be media, but I might do some kind of entry on Election Day in order to help cleanse my soul of that whole horrific event. I'd probably still do entries like this but not as frequently as I do them now. To me honest a lot of the "miscellaneous thoughts" that would make up these types of entries is better suited to tweets. Now that I think about it I probably should've written something for Spirit Day yesterday but oh well.

Maybe I'll go over my internet usage history now, since it seems like as good a time as any.
